Two ways to trade the same price.

Both desks use the same number: what the skin sells for right now. Pick whichever one fits what you think is going to happen.

Perps

Go long if you think a skin is going to get more expensive, or short if you think it's going to get cheaper. Up to 10x leverage and no expiry date, so you can hold as long as you want to.

Leverage
up to 10x on USDC margin
Funding
every hour, paid by whichever side is crowded

Options

Thirty-two skins, one price each.

Each one is a specific skin at a specific wear, the same way it's listed for sale. These are live.

Your Steam account is never involved.

  1. The price

Each market follows one skin at one wear. Its price is the middle of what people are currently asking for it on Skinport, and behind that sits what copies really sold for, day by day, from CSFloat.

  2. You open a position

A long or short with leverage, or an option at a strike and an expiry. You put up USDC. The pool takes the other side, so you never wait for someone to match your order.

  3. You get paid in cash

Close whenever you want, or let an option run to expiry and settle against the price. No trade offers, no trade holds, no arguing about float.

Where every number comes from.

The price feed is the whole product, so it is written down rather than implied.

The price
The median of three venues: what Skinport lists it at, what it sold for on Steam's own market, and what it sold for on CSFloat. No single marketplace can move it.
The chart
What copies actually sold for, every day, from CSFloat. Hundreds of days and thousands of sales per market.
Volatility
Measured from that daily history, not guessed. It's what the options desk prices with.
The trades
The one thing that isn't real yet. No contract is live, so positions are paper and saved in your browser.

What else is in there?

Both desks work right now, on paper.

Questions.

Do I need to own the skin?

No, and you never get one. You're trading the price, and it pays out in cash. Your inventory isn't involved at any point.

Where does the price come from?

Three venues, all public and all free. Skinport for what the skin is listed at right now, Steam's own market for what it sold for there, and CSFloat for the daily sale history going back years. The price you trade against is the median of the three, so one marketplace being pushed around by a wash trade or a silly listing moves it by nothing. Each source is shown on the desk with how far it sits from the median.

How is volatility worked out?

From the daily sale history. The raw daily average is too noisy to use directly, because every copy of a skin sells under the same name no matter its float or stickers, so a single unusual copy can double a day's average. Measured raw, an AK Redline comes out at 650% volatility, which is nonsense. So we take a two week median first to strip out which copies happened to sell, then measure how much that moved week to week. The listed markets land between 15% and 71%.

Can I trade right now?

Yes, on paper. Both desks work with the real price and real pricing maths, and your positions are saved in your browser. Real settlement is waiting on the contract going live.

What about the token?

$CSTRADE hasn't launched. When it does, holding it will get you cheaper fees on both desks. Until then everything is open to everyone.
